We first programmed various time series analysis techniques like dynamic factor analysis, MAFA, chronical clustering and a large number of multivariate analysis techniques. These were all programmed in FORTRAN, and a graphical user interface (GUI) around these methods was programmed in the period 2000-2005. We called it Brodgar.
Extending
Brodgar to RRealizing that learning statistical methodology and programming in R requires a very steep learning curve, we decided to extend the GUI so that the user can easily apply graphical data exploration techniques, linear regression, GLMs, GAMs, mixed modeling, classification trees, power analysis, etc.
The package (and its manual) can be downloaded from www.brodgar.com. The site also has various examples. In fact, most of the analyses described in our books can be carried out with Brodgar.
